WHAT: Laurel Regional Hospital

WHO: Laurel Mayor Craig A. Moe is dedicating his MY TIME WITH THE MAYOR event on Monday, August 10, 2015 to a public discussion on this important community issue.

WHY: The Dimensions Healthcare System Board of Directors has voted to accept the recommendation of its hired consultant that the Laurel Regional Hospital, a full-service hospital, be closed and replaced with an ambulatory care center by 2018.
The Mayor, Laurel City Council members, State, and County elected officials want to hear what residents and business owners have to say about the plan.

WHEN: Monday, August 10, 2015 from 4:30p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: Laurel Municipal Center, 8103 Sandy Spring Road, Laurel, MD 20707
 Speakers will be limited to 3 minutes.
 Those who do not wish to speak during this event which will be televised LIVE on Laurel TV can submit questions by email in advance to laurelmayor@laurel.md.us.

From PGCMLS: The Prince George’s County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) has partnered with the Family League of Baltimore to offer free lunches to youth, ages 18 and under, this summer. “The Library is just doing its part to keep our children healthy, safe and educationally engaged, ready to return to school,” said Chief Operating Officer Michelle Hamiel. The Library proudly distributed nearly 5,000 lunches to children last year. Help us get the word out to reach even more kids and teens this year. Lunches will be served Monday-Friday, June 29-August 21 (except July 3), as scheduled below.

The 2015 Prince George’s County Memorial Stair Climb and Walk is a way to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live on 9-11-2001. Each participant pays tribute to an FDNY firefighter by climbing or walking the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. Your individual tribute not only remembers the sacrifice of an FDNY brother, but symbolically completes their heroic journey to save others. Through firefighter and community participation we can ensure that each of the 343 firefighters is honored and that the world knows that we will never forget.
